Waveform Types

Sine — the purest tone with no harmonics. Smooth, clean, and used as a tuning reference. This is the fundamental building block of all sound.

Square — contains only odd harmonics, creating a hollow, buzzy sound. Similar to a clarinet or vintage synthesizer. Rich and penetrating.

Sawtooth — contains all harmonics (both odd and even), making it the brightest waveform. Similar to a bowed string. Great for rich, full sounds.

Triangle — similar to a sine wave but with some odd harmonics. Softer than square, mellower than sawtooth. A gentle, flute-like quality.
